Playboy’s Miss August 2014 is Maggie May, a small-town girl from Wamego, Kansas who was raised in Wichita. May didn’t come to Playboy fresh off the farm. She was already an established international model. Maggie is represented by some of the biggest modeling agencies in the country, including Wilhelmina Models in Miami and Elite Model Management. She got an offer from Playboy and hesitated to accept. “My agency was like, ‘do you want to do Playboy,’ and I said I had to think about it. Then I saw the Kate Moss issue, and I thought, if she can do it, so can I!” she told Playboy.
Photographer Josh Ryan shot her pictorial on location seaside, which was perfect for Maggie who is an avid lover of all things beach and sun. “My pictorial was a ‘Hamptons’ theme,” she told Playboy. “We set up at a nice beach house in Malibu. I know it looks like the ocean, but we actually shot the boat scenes in a lake!”
