Thomas Doering was born in 1970 and work as an electronic hardware engineer and electronic system designer. Due to his technical job everything technical is potentially interesting. This is why he bought a digital compact camera in 2003. It was basically the technical background of digital photography which led him to that step and less photography itself. The following years his interest in doing people photography grew, especially the interest in artistic nude photography. Since these days Thomas Doering tooks every opportunity for a shooting and increased his skills with learning-by-doing. He love the reduction on the basic elements of photography: forms, lights and shadows. This is why he only work in a studio. He is often asked if this isn’t boring: “Well, no, it isn’t. It is still amazing what you can do with light if you are able to set it up”.
