Stefan Weis began taking photographs in 1988 with his first, smaller assignments for a daily newspaper. In 1993 he began a two-year training at the Lazi Academy in Stuttgart to become a photo designer. Here he learned everything in independent work about image and light design, working with flash and artificial light or even the conversion of images according to a given layout. Little by little his interest in artistic nude photography grew. Photography is like a rush for him. Especially when working with people, a photo session with one or more models, a dynamic process develops, similar to making music in a group, for example. The technical knowledge of photography becomes a subconscious foundation over which a “flow” emerges – the work flows, there is no more thinking, images emerge from the gut, short moments of seconds are captured as if in slow motion.
