Deirdre Marie O’Sullivan

I am a portrait photographer, based in Dublin, Ireland. It is very rare that I will shoot anything that doesn’t involve a person. I am fascinated with expression and facial features and although I do appreciate landscape, I am far more passionate about people. In my creative work, I like to portray emotion through colour, pose, expression, props and wardrobe. I try to push myself to portray more than ‘just a face’ when I work creatively, I bore easily of beauty images and am excited more by dark moods, violence, oddities and so on as it is a more real reflection of my life. Most of my client work is Boudoir or Art Nude so a lot of my client work is private although the odd shoot is made public with the client’s consent. I hire nude models for my art nude work as I find the nude body infinitely beautiful in all its shapes and sizes.
